In my last article I spoke of a coming judgment. This article will elaborate on that thought. The choice is clear, the options are simple, the stakes are HIGH and time is limited. Will you choose a secure future with the Lord Jesus Christ or do you prefer His judgment?
John 3:16-18 – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” 17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” 18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
The word “default” is an interesting one. In finance, if you fail to pay your obligations you are said to be in default and subject to penalties. In law, if you fail to meet stipulated requirements you lose your case and must deal with the consequences. In computers, the system that runs your device has certain automatic settings – those settings [default settings] remain in place unless changed by the one operating the device whether it is a cell phone, tablet, or laptop. In the verses I mentioned above it is critical to see the default position you are assigned automatically.
Let me provide some context.
#1 – God loves you so much that He gave of Himself so that you would not have to take the default option in life which is JUDGMENT. Verse 16.
#2 – God did not send Jesus Christ into the world to judge it, but to save it. Verse 17.
#3 – But, in order to avoid the default option of JUDGMENT, a decision is required, a faith decision. Verse 18. God never forces you to go His way, to take His solution!
Let’s breakdown the last verse to help you understand the FACTS. “He [you, me, anyone] who believes [places faith – trust – belief] in Him [Jesus Christ] is NOT judged, he [you, me, anyone] who does not place his faith or trust in Him has been judged already [default option]…” Got it?
This is a judicial [legal] decision, one you cannot avoid! Do you want to have Jesus Christ provide your defense [because you have placed your faith/trust in Him], or would you prefer to represent yourself in this judicial matter by bringing a box load of GOOD DEEDS as your defense?
“He who represents himself has a fool for a client”
Abraham Lincoln
Do not trust yourself to provide the solution in this critical life decision [human deeds and or good works].
Trust in Jesus Christ, the only One who can guarantee the best possible outcome!
John 3:36 – “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
